The beings, the people, inanimate objects, dwellings we live in, cars we drive, all contribute to our well-being and overall health. What we declare and speak of has the same weight too.

Just over a week ago I declared in a jokey way ‘Oh I am not very savvy with computers and social media, lots of massage and natural therapists are like this’.

Oh my gosh, luckily I was pulled up for this and really had the opportunity to feel the weight and bearing of this statement on my life and my progress. I even joke to people that I have had a child so that they can load up my ipod, make playlists and do all of these things for me that I don’t like doing.

It is fine if it is a joke and I understand we are not meant to be great at everything but it was really limiting me to keep talking about it and believing it.

Consequently as I decided it was BS to hide behind this thought in the week following I made playlists for my classes easily in a few minutes or so. My computer printer, scanner and fax disconnected so I had to uninstall and reinstall programs and connections. I had viruses on my computer needing attention, and I continued to update my website. I connected to a new terminal for health funds at my clinic, and my car battery died completely. I paid attention to each of these things and one by one what normally would have phased me, now incredibly seemed like something very easy.

My commitment to myself to make positive changes also played a huge part!

I was actually grateful for all of the opportunities to clean things up. Make things fresh with new connections and new beginnings and mostly show myself that computer, technology incompetence is a belief or concept I will no longer hang my hat on.

The principle at play is to take care of the container or your canoe/boat that you are moving in through life.

Taking care to be aware of how we think, feel and talk about our life is really important. The container which enables our life flow is our body and mind. Paying attention to the repetitive messages in our environment also help us to steer our canoe in a course or direction which is supportive and uplifting.

Feeling how your body moves during movement meditation can be just the tool to rebalance your approach to life and where you are steering yourself. By continually moving and observing your body and mind you can redirect limiting thoughts and patterns held in the body. Then it is simple to apply in day to day life. (After all we don’t sit still and close our eyes as we go about our daily activities). Change your focus and use the energy of the emotion to propel you in a new direction. So keep moving and stay present!

You can run on a full tank by taking care of all aspects of your life, mind, body, soul, relationships and the environment you live in.

Being mindful and aware of the ‘container principle’ in our situation can make life smooth and we can move full steam ahead through doing something as simple as acknowledging and changing a limiting thought. As soon as I did this last week the universe presented me with a multitude of opportunities to act on the changes and reinforce my new pathway.
Movement meditation and Kahuna bodywork teaches us how to observe the thoughts, feelings and sensations both in our inner world and also the world around us. To have balance and harmony in our bodies movement, our mind’s thoughts we need to be aware and observant. It is then that we can be honest with ourselves when we are acting in ways that reduces our amazingness.
